For some months I haven’t being able to craft – sew, scrapbook, knit or cook properly. Yes, I consider cooking to be a craft. My kitchen was at times, incognito, apart from opening the odd tin of beans, burning some toast or to set the microwave on fire with something I forgot about. I’m easily [...]

I was little late in getting my New Year book. It arrived today. As I mentioned in a previous post I usually treat myself to a book that I have to work through. The book I usually choose every year has to really catch my eye. This is my choice for 2008.

Me and my boys sat one afternoon and created: I helped the boys cut, pin, sew (Joe using the machine unaided and Harry just pressing the foot pedal) and show their creations with pride. Joe commented that his tree was wobbly but we both agreed the process was fun and his creation will be our [...]

In the past year I’ve discovered that I can actually knit, sew and bake like I never thought I could.
As a small girl, I was prolific in my creativity to write, role-play, knit and sew. Like many others, doubts eventually set in for fear of whatever I created wouldn’t be perfect.

I had ideas floating around my head today and needed to act upon them. I wanted to plan, sew and create, but I couldn’t.
I was being watched…! A little boy who didn’t seem to feel all that amicable towards me but yet, just wanted my attention all the day…and the rest. So, I gave in [...]

Right into my own little Tardis. I lock the door, pull down the blinds and work at my machine.
My new workroom was plastered out, skirting boards finished and the worktop added today so I’m thrilled. The workroom is actually the back porch/utilityroom containing only a couple of things. I’ve let the shoerack and washer stay – [...]

Those words rang in my ears as I tussled, argued and swore at the birthday bunting I’ve been making today. Still, it’s done and it’s taken me all day; which I never expected. Of course, that was in between the ‘normals’ that I do every day – and as we all do!
Sew, - an appropriate spelling in [...]

For me anyway. John kick starts all my boys birthdays. I see this as my official start to Autumn. I adore Autumn for many reasons but I love the Autumnal colours of just about everything, changing wardrobe, the cozy, warm woollies, I have an excuse to just knit or bake, planning Halloween and Guy Fawkes night. But most [...]

My boys are huge Lego fans. Joe is annoyingly imaginative with lego. While the rest of us are thinking about what we might create with the multi-coloured bricks, he’s already got something working complete with wheels, moving parts and spinning bits. I guess if I filmed him, speeded up the footage, it would look really [...]

Oh yes, it’s all been good. I’ve been on a little blogging hiatus for a short while as I’m putting in the background work on a couple of exciting projects, which will come to fruition in a couple of weeks time It’s all so very good indeed. I will no longer be a domestica, [...]
